Profile of Mae Wood
Mae Wood is a Community Outreach Coordinator based in our National Headquarters.
Before cementing herself into F3E’s framework as one of the pillars of the National Team, Mae was always about fighting for the people. Born and raised in Maryland, she knew she wanted to help people at a young age. Mae has a passion for making the world not only a better place for all people, but an equal place. Mae led service trips to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in her junior and senior year of high school. She helped with rebuilding the homes of locals and was moved by their stories. This helped fuel the fire that she already had.
Mae attended Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She worked hard in her scholastic life and made the Dean’s List. While studying at Guilford, she took on the mantle of Executive Copy Editor of an award-winning social justice newspaper.
Promptly after college, Mae became a Canvass Director for the Human Rights Campaign. During this time, she promoted justice for the marginalized of all backgrounds and trained activists to become leaders in their own right. Ultimately, she went onto become the highest averaging fundraiser in the country.
She is the proud mother of a beautiful puppy named Roo, who she loves to take on walks in remote and beautiful places. Mae has been playing guitar and singing since she was a little girl. If you ever need a performer for your wedding, she’s the one to call!
